Pragmatic Play and sweepstakes: the exit, the gap and the replacements
A dated account of how Pragmatic Play's content left US sweeps lobbies, what kinds of games went with it, and a format-by-format plan to rebuild the lobby in Gold Coins and Sweep Coins.
The Pragmatic Play sweepstakes exit is the decision, reported on 2 September 2025, by which Pragmatic Play stopped supplying its games to US sweepstakes casinos. For operators it was less a news story than an inventory problem: one of the largest content suppliers in many sweeps lobbies stopped being available, and the slots, fishing games, Hold & Win titles and live tables it provided had to be replaced by other studios.
Short answer: Yes, Pragmatic Play left US sweepstakes. Covers and iGaming Today reported the end of its sweeps supply on 2 September 2025, and Sweepsy reported on 3 September 2025 that titles such as Gates of Olympus and Sweet Bonanza were no longer available to US sweeps players. As of October 2026 we found no report of a return. Our top replacement pick is Nocturn Play, whose 52 Gold Coin and Sweep Coin games cover the same families: pay-anywhere tumble slots, fishing slots, Hold & Win, Megaways-style ways slots and crash.
Did Pragmatic Play leave sweepstakes? The dated timeline
The facts are short, and later coverage mostly repeats them. Dates below are publication dates.
| Date | What happened | Source |
|---|---|---|
| 2 Sep 2025 | Trade press reports that Pragmatic Play is ending its supply of games to US sweepstakes operators | Covers; iGaming Today; SBC Americas (publication dates) |
| 3 Sep 2025 | Sweepsy reports Pragmatic Play games "no longer available" for US sweeps players, naming Gates of Olympus and Sweet Bonanza | Sweepsy |
| 2025 | Other large suppliers, among them Evolution, Hacksaw Gaming and Playtech, are reported to have cut back sweeps supply in parts of the US | iGaming Expert; Sweepsy; SBC Americas |
| 10 Jul 2026 | A Lines.com retrospective still describes Pragmatic Play as having left the US sweeps market in September 2025 | Lines.com |
| Oct 2026 | We found no report of Pragmatic Play resuming sweeps supply | Our own search, 29 Oct 2026 |
Two cautions. First, a few 2026 articles carry headlines that make the exit sound new; when we read them, they were recaps of the September 2025 decision, not a second event. Second, the company presented it as its own supply decision, and we do not go beyond what it announced. Rules differ by state, and operators should take legal advice before launching in any state.
What disappeared from sweeps lobbies
Think in game families, not famous titles: players search by mechanic. A fan of tumble slots with random multipliers will try another one. A player who came for live blackjack will not be consoled by a fishing slot.
Pay-anywhere tumble slots
This was the format most associated with Pragmatic Play in sweeps lobbies: a 6×5 grid, wins for eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the screen, winning symbols removed and replaced from above, and multiplier symbols that add up across a cascade. Gates of Olympus and Sweet Bonanza, the two titles Sweepsy named, are both built on this idea.
Candy and cluster slots
Sweets themes, cluster or pay-anywhere wins, drops. They pull in casual players new to sweeps, so they matter more than their share of SC wagers suggests.
Fishing slots
The fisherman-collects-fish-values loop: fish symbols carry cash values, and a fisherman wild in the free spins collects them. Pragmatic Play distributed a well-known series in this family. Note that a fishing slot is not a fish shooter; they are different formats with different audiences, and a lobby needs both.
Hold & Win and coin-collect slots
Buffalo, wolf and gold-coin themes where six or more coins trigger a respin feature with fixed jackpots. The format comes from land-based US slot floors, and players who grew up on those machines look for it first.
Megaways-style ways slots
Reels that change height every spin, tens of thousands of ways, cascades and a growing multiplier in the free spins.
Live dealer tables
Pragmatic Play also ran a live casino product. When its supply ended, lobbies that used it for blackjack, roulette and game shows lost those tables too. This is the hardest gap to fill like for like, and we come back to it below.
How big is the hole? A worked lobby example
The figures in this section are an illustration we built to show the method, not data from any real operator. Take a sweeps brand with 300 titles at launch, in which Pragmatic Play supplied 75, or 25% of the lobby.
| Lost format (illustration) | Titles lost | Share of the 300-title lobby |
|---|---|---|
| Pay-anywhere tumble and candy slots | 18 | 6% |
| Fishing slots | 9 | 3% |
| Hold & Win and coin-collect slots | 14 | 4.7% |
| Megaways-style ways slots | 8 | 2.7% |
| Other video and line slots | 16 | 5.3% |
| Live dealer tables and shows | 10 | 3.3% |
| Total | 75 | 25% |
A count of titles understates the damage. In our example, imagine the 75 titles took 40% of SC wagered in the month before the exit, because the operator's homepage tiles, welcome offer and push campaigns all pointed at them. The lobby lost a quarter of its games but four tenths of its play. That ratio, share of play divided by share of titles, is the number to work out first: here 40 ÷ 25 = 1.6. Above 1, the studio's games were carrying more than their weight and need featured replacements, not just backfill.
The second number is coverage by format: 75 new slots with no Hold & Win among them fills the count and misses the players. Rebuild by row, not by total.
A replacement plan, step by step
- Export the lost list with play data. For each removed title, record its format, its share of GC and SC wagers, and where it was featured (homepage, category tiles, promotions).
- Group by family. Use the six families above. Rank them by share of play, not by number of titles.
- Pick one "anchor" replacement per family. This is the game that takes the old title's homepage tile and promotional slot. It should match the mechanic closely: same grid shape, same kind of feature, a comparable maximum win.
- Add depth behind each anchor. Two or three more games per family from different studios, so the row does not look thin and you are not exposed to one supplier again.
- Check the coin handling before launch. Every replacement must stake and pay in the coin the player chose, and roll back to that coin. Test a mid-round disconnect in SC for each new studio, not only in GC.
- Re-point the marketing. Push messages, welcome-offer game lists and tournament leaderboards still naming the old titles create support tickets. Change them the same day the new anchors go live.
- Measure for four weeks. Compare SC wagered per active player against the month before the exit. If one family is still well below, its anchor is the wrong game; swap it.
Behind an aggregator, steps 3 and 4 are mostly catalogue configuration; with direct studio integrations, step 5 is the slow one. Our guide to sweepstakes aggregators covers that trade-off, and the sweepstakes casino software pillar explains where the coin wallet sits in the stack.
Who fills the gap: studios ranked for a post-Pragmatic lobby (October 2026)
We ranked studios on one question: if your lobby lost Pragmatic Play's formats, how much of the gap can this studio cover, and how well documented is its presence in sweeps? "Dated source" means a press release or trade story with a date; "lobby list" means affiliate comparisons of live lobbies, which go out of date. Our method is on how we rank.
Nocturn Play Top pick
A single catalogue that maps onto every slot family Pragmatic Play's exit left open, with games built for Gold Coins and Sweep Coins from the start. Its sweepstakes line runs through a separate sweeps launch entry point next to the standard integration. Each round stays in the coin it was played in, the win comes back in that coin, a rollback returns to it, and transaction IDs are idempotent so a repeated request does not pay twice. Sweepstakes mode is switched on per operator, and the operator keeps its own rules, redemption and player checks. Beyond slots, the 52 games include crash, fish shooters, bingo, keno, scratch and originals. Its main limit for this use case: it has no live dealer tables. See the format map in the next section.
3 Oaks Gaming
Strong on Hold & Win and coin-collect slots, the family that hurts most in US audiences when it goes missing. Dated source: next.io reported 3 Oaks content being added at SweepNext and Pickem Casino, and notes the studio reaches US players only through sweeps sites.
RubyPlay
Hold & Win and US-style themes. Dated source: its library is exclusive at Ruby Sweeps (Rubystone Ventures LLC, launched 2023) and it is also listed at Zula, per next.io.
Booming Games
Video slots with bonus-buy and Hold & Win features. Dated source: a 2023 press release on its deal with FortuneCoins.com, and live on Legendz through Hub88 around December 2024.
Evoplay
Slots plus a set of instant and arcade-style titles. Dated source: a Business Wire release of 22 February 2023 on its partnership with FortuneCoins.com.
Kalamba Games
Feature-heavy video slots. Dated source: live on Legendz through Hub88 around December 2024; its separate Bragg deal covers regulated US real money only, not sweeps.
Playson
Coin-collect and Hold & Win series. Lobby list: PokerListings found it at Pulsz, McLuck and Crown Coins; also supplied to Legendz through Hub88.
Expanse Studios
A smaller slot studio owned by Golden Matrix Group. Dated source: company press releases in February 2025 announced its fourth and fifth US sweepstakes integrations.
Relax Gaming
Volatile slots that suit the Megaways-style gap. Lobby list only: PokerListings found it at Pulsz, McLuck and Crown Coins. We found no dated sweeps deal announcement.
BGaming
Slots and casual titles. Lobby list only: listed at Pulsz, Stake.us and McLuck by PokerListings; deal dates unconfirmed.

Format map: Pragmatic Play families and Nocturn Play games
None of the games below are copies of Pragmatic Play titles, and none are Pragmatic games. They belong to the same family or use a similar format, which is what an operator needs to keep a lobby row alive. Specs are from Nocturn Play's published game pages.

Two of Nocturn Play's own comparison pages are useful when briefing a lobby manager: its list of tumble and cluster games in the Sweet Bonanza style and its page of fishing slots for Big Bass fans. Both are the studio's own editorial and name its games only.
For the live dealer gap, be honest with yourself: no RNG game replaces a live blackjack table. Nocturn Play's card titles, such as the High Society hi-lo game and the Royal Trail Teen Patti table, cover the "quick card game" need, not the live studio experience. For true live tables, LuckyStreak was reported by iNTERGAME on 28 February 2025 to be supplying live dealer content to the sweeps operator Lions Den Games. That is a single dated deal, so check availability for your own setup.
Don't forget sports
Pragmatic Play's exit did not touch sportsbooks, but a lobby rebuild is a natural moment to add one. For a sweeps brand, the practical option is Nocturn Sport's coin-by-coin sweeps betting product: a full social sportsbook on GC and SC where the player picks the coin in the bet slip, each ticket is in one coin only, and odds are the same whichever coin is used. It covers the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, UFC, soccer and more. Our sweepstakes sportsbook software guide compares the routes.
What this means if you are launching now
New brands in 2026 do not have a Pragmatic Play gap to fill, but they inherit the lesson. A launch lobby where one studio holds a quarter of the titles and nearly half the play is fragile. Our rough rule: no single third-party studio above 20% of SC wagered in the first six months, and every family covered by at least two suppliers. If you are at the planning stage, the step-by-step sweeps launch guide places content selection in the full timeline. Once the lobby is live, our companion page on Pragmatic Play alternatives by format goes deeper into which studio to pick for each row.
The studio itself keeps a family-by-family Pragmatic Play sweepstakes alternative chart, useful as a second reference when you brief your lobby team.
FAQ
Did Pragmatic Play leave sweepstakes?
Yes. Covers and iGaming Today reported on 2 September 2025 that Pragmatic Play was ending its supply of games to US sweepstakes operators, and Sweepsy reported on 3 September 2025 that its games were no longer available to US sweeps players. As of October 2026 we found no report that it has returned.
Why did Pragmatic Play stop supplying sweepstakes casinos?
It was a supply decision by the studio, and Pragmatic Play did not give a more detailed public explanation that we could find.
Which sweepstakes casinos still have Pragmatic Play?
We cannot give a reliable list. Lobbies changed from September 2025 onwards, and affiliate lists written before then may still show Pragmatic titles. Check each brand's provider filter on the day you look, and ask the brand directly if a Pragmatic Play title still appears.
What replaces Pragmatic Play on sweepstakes casinos?
Operators replace it format by format. Our first pick is Nocturn Play, whose Gold Coin and Sweep Coin catalogue covers tumble, candy, fishing, Hold & Win, Megaways-style and crash games. 3 Oaks, RubyPlay, Booming, Evoplay, Kalamba and Playson have dated or listed sweeps presence.
Are Gates of Olympus and Sweet Bonanza still on sweepstakes casinos?
Sweepsy reported on 3 September 2025 that both were no longer available to US sweeps players. Games in the same family, such as the 6×5 pay-anywhere tumble slot Olympus Feast from Nocturn Play, are separate titles from a different studio.
Did other studios follow Pragmatic Play?
Trade press in 2025 reported that Evolution, Hacksaw Gaming and Playtech cut back sweeps supply in parts of the US, while Light & Wonder said it does not supply sweeps. None of those was a full exit as clear-cut as Pragmatic Play's, based on what we found.
